I know this is a pretty old machine by now, but I found the optiplex 170L in a garage sale for $50 and thought that it was a goodish deal. I got a graphics/video card (nVidia GeForce 6200 and i have no clue how to install it.

so my t5400 crashed and wouldn't recover, bad memory controller. So i bought a replacement MB on eBay. installed it, machine powered up, and i tried to set the configuration. it restarted and wouldn't post. only 2 short beeps.

I added a drive letter to the Recovery Partition, which initially had no drive letter. Now when I boot the computer (Dell Studio XPS 8100 64-bit O.S. Windows 7 Pro) and press F8, the Partition info does not appear. Can I reverse it back to the way it was before or is it too late?

I have a Dimension 2400 that is several years old that will suddenly not boot after a power outage lately. It wouldnt even turn on so I changed to a different power supply and it was able to at least turn on but no boot and this was after all drives were disconnected except for 1 hard drive.

I'm trying to get the second monitor online via the on card HDMI output to a hdmi to DisplayPort adapter. It refuses to recognize a monitor is attached (detect function in Control Panel - Display - Screen Resolution) . The monitor does not have a HDMI input.

hello, i have a dell inspiron 530 desktop with xp, sp3 and there is this MPEG-4 video file that is 5.46 GB and i have a 15.0gb transcend usb flash drive and you can almost fit 3 of the same file but you can only fit 2, and whenever i try to transfer the file onto it, it says something like:

I know this looks similar to other questions, but not all the numbers seem the same so did not want to assume that the problems previously reported are the same as mine. This seems to happen in and around start up. I have no idea why this is occuring. I am in an area I know very very little about.

My computer was hit by a surge. It still powers on. The power supply light is green on the back. When I turn it on all the fans work and an orange LED on the motherboard comes on. I get 5 beeps, which when I looked up the beep codes means that the CMOS battery is dead.

Does this version has an 32 SSD, a Blu-Ray Reader and a TV Tuner? Or is it the same specs as the higher version of this PC which sells out with the price of 1999.99 $? Please do help and advice. Thanks, Sh. Harbi

I have a refurbished Optiplex 745 that I put my old HDD (from a Dimension C521 running XP Home, sp2)) into, and managed to get it booting and operating. On the old computer, everything was sweet.
