I have also read that bios could affect the detection of hardware? correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm looking into all possible options why my computer cannot detect my Gaming graphic card. by the way my laptop is Dell xps 14z

I just recieved my new alienware laptop yesterday and i seem to have a recurring problem. I did what most people do when they start up a computer after installing the updates. I opened the web browser and typed in a phrase so common it has become second nature to many of us. Google.com.

I just purchased an Inspiron 14R for my granddaughter (graduation present). I know Dell doesn't ship OS Recovery disks anymore (poor decision), but I thought I'd be able to create one from the Dell Backup and Recovery app.

i have a dell 1545 and each time i try to access webcam central or if any other application like skype tries to use webcam, a typical blue screen error is generated folllowed by a system reboot and thereafter the system responds very slow. The speed of the OS also slows down.

I am able to power the laptop only with AC adapter, Battery is not charging, Battery indicator on LAP top is not ON. Task Bar Icon says 'On Ac Power' and batter is not charging. Any suggestions please ?

I have a Dell INSPIRON N4050 less than a yr old. It heats up and remains heated even though its on a cool pad. It gets uncomfortable to use as even the top near the touch pad gets heated.

My x51 is running but when I turn the monitor on is says no signal and goes back to sleep mode. I am currently connected hdmi to hdmi from motherboard to monitor.......how do I resolve this? Can I run straight from my video card to monitor and just ignore the motherboard connection?

Does anyone know of a way to repair or replace this with something higher quality? I haven't had my laptop long and the chrome is flaking off and it has such a sharp edge it cut my finger nail just by brushing up against it wrong. I love this laptop, but the chrome strip is driving me crazy...

Once the drivers are unistalled, re-install the latest drivers from Dell Drivers and Downloads.

Purchased an all in one for an upgrade I was doing. Machine turned on once. That was it. It has now been weeks and they have sent a technician twice with the wrong parts. Sunday they called me to tell me they would replace the machine by Thursday of this week.

Hi Stephan, same problem here. Sadly dell support is no big help here. Everytime I call they don't even know that "DMPV" exists and put me through to poweredge support, which also doesn't know what to do, after "circulating" in line multiple times I gave up.

Iam using DELL VOSTRO 1550.When i plugin the AC Charger and power ON/OFF my laptop screen goels black and comes back in 2 seconds.Can i know is this any hardware issue or i need to set any settings.Please Help me. Thanks in Advance Viswam Mamilla
