Try: Printer Maintenance> Adjust BTR> Plain (or whichever paper you use) change to +6> Restart. I now have black print.
When you go to print, and BEFORE you actually print, go to "Page Settings" (NOT "Printer Preferences"). From there, click on the "Paper" tab. Select "Tray 1" in both boxes and click "Okay.
