...call the spare parts line at dell at 800-357-3355. Its actually cheaper to buy it through them then to get it else where online. The cost is $18.99 plus $5.99 for the webcam bezel. Not sure what shipping is yet. Hope this helps!
nah, i's not there, nothing relating to a webcam is in devices, or anywhere for that matter
it is possible to order without a webcam. Are you sure you're seeing a camera, or the ambient light sensor?
just go and download dell webcam entral, and all your worries will come to an end
I could not operate my Dell Altitude E4310 webcam, please advice.
HSDPA modem, you'd know if you paid $125+ extra for it analog modem is an option, so you'd know if you paid $20 for it webcam is quite obvious if there is one
I am having the same problem and would love to know if this was solved.
Thanks so much. It was just as you noted. The system came from I.T. The Scanners and Cameras folder under the Control Panel has no contents. Mystery solved. Thanks again!
Thanks for the reply. Well good news is I got it working. Bad news was I ended up having to slight press and twist the area where the camera was and hey presto it fired into life. I think the board that the camera is on must have a dry joint.

...before Win 7 came out, then the webcam may not have a compatible driver...there is a Vista version of Webcam Central for your system try...a driver. If you do have an E6410 as the others in this thread...running diagnostics to see if the webcam is detected. Start the system...
Just wondering if anyone can tell me if you can add a webcam to an E6410 if it didn't ship with one, and whether it is easy to do? Thanks.11/27/2013 | (Forums)
The light sensor is to the left hand side at the top of the screen. If there's a camera, you'll see it centered at the top of the screen right under the latch. The camera is optional - not standard - so if you didn't order it with the system, you don't have one.
You can also look up the configuration using the service tag -- support.dell.com (or the Dell support site in the country of purchase; that one is for US purchases only.
I didn't order this laptop myself - I have received it from my company, that is why I'm looking for diagnostic tool to check if I have such devices or not. Regards
I just received a company issued e6410 laptop and noticed what appears to be a camera - just above the screen. How can I tell if it is operational? Thanks!7/5/2011 | (Forums)
Hi I've got exactly the same problem and no one at Dell or elsewhere has been any help. shame Dell quality control failed on the lens falling out issue.
I have also problem with hardware in Dell e6410 (webcam, hsdpa modem, analog modem). Maybe our laptops just have gaps instead of those devices. Are you sure that your laptop has a webcam? - I think it is ambitient light sensor - not webcam. Regards Rostek
