This article provides a chart of the known Microsoft Windows Security updates that may affect the way your Dell Data Protection | Encryption (DDP | E) software works. These updates may result in BSODs after they are applied. Commonly the BSOD would be 0x0000006F, or Session3_Initialization_Failure.

External vulnerability scans use multiple cipher exploits against open ports to determine potential service susceptibility. These scans may cause Dell Data Protection (DDP) server CPU’s to peak at 100% , resulting in service locking/failures.

Customers leveraging custom SQL ports are able to change the SQL server port value in the DDP |E server via the Server Configuration Tool. Several services depend on this property, but are not forced to be restarted when the SQL server port property is changed in the Server Configuration Tool.
