My computer was hit by a surge. It still powers on. The power supply light is green on the back. When I turn it on all the fans work and an orange LED on the motherboard comes on. I get 5 beeps, which when I looked up the beep codes means that the CMOS battery is dead.

I have a Dell Studio XPS 435T that the hard drive died on. We have attempted to pull the data off it but after a minute or two the Hard dive becomes unresponsive. We can't even boot to the partitioned part of the drive. My question is, When I purchased this computer it came with Windows XP.

I've got a M17xR3 which i bought a couple of years ago, and was wondering if there was anyway of arranging with Dell to get a graphics card upgrade. I'm currently running a Geforce GTX 560M which can't really cope with today's games (my fault for being cheap i guess!)

I have an optiplex GX270 with A06 bios---I am trying to configure with an IDE drive and a SATA drive, the IDE drive being the master or boot drive---How do I set up the bios to boot from that drive and have access to the SATA drive?
