Only a few more days between me and a week in sunny California…err…I mean between me and hosting you guys at Dell Enterprise Forum (DEF)!! I’m super excited to be attending and working my 5th forum event.

I’m so excited to be at Dell Women’s Entrepreneur Network (DWEN) event in Istanbul, Turkey this week. The theme for this year’s event is Pay it Forward, and we ha’ve been exploring how women can grow and scale their businesses.

Enterprise IT faces bigger challenges today than ever before. IT organizations need to respond quickly to intense requirements for collaboration, virtualization, security and mobility without sacrificing performance, efficiency and reliability.

Earlier at Computex, we shared some details about a new convertible laptop, the XPS 11. Though it’s the smallest convertible Windows 8 machine we’ve designed, it brings a lot of power. It features a gorgeous Quad HD (2560 x 1440) display and the latest hardware from Intel.

Today we announced new additions to Dell’s trusted OptiPlex desktops and Latitude laptops to address security, manageability and reliability needs in commercial computing.

My goal is for us to inspire at least 100 innovative ideas from around the world, with an emphasis on the need to increase entrepreneurship in developing markets.

You may have seen the posts about Dell’s consumer and business Haswell product updates. In addition to these enhanced laptops and desktops, we introduced the new Dell 21.5" Touch Monitor with 10-point multi-touch capability and the B1165nfw and B1265dfw multifunction printers.

Early in October, Dell announced Active Infrastructure 1.0, which brought outstanding converged infrastructure capabilities to the market. Today, I am excited to announce Active Infrastructure 1.

These customers told us where they want their businesses and organizations to go, and about the problems they faced in getting there. Customers have made it clear that they want to eliminate hardware complexity and sprawl.

Collaboration and accessibility are the new drivers of research computing. Historically, supercomputing was driven by very large systems running relatively limited sets of research queries.

First, we introduced Dell's Fluid File System (FluidFS), built to unify block and file storage and provide customers with the tools necessary to manage file data. FluidFS removed the scalability limitations associated with traditional file systems.

Zadara Storage was the very first storage company to join OpenStack back in 2011. We've been closely involved ever since. Our storage is actually based on OpenStack with OpenStack Nova inside our product.
