My name is Steven Gill and I purchased a Studio XPS 1640, for use in college. The course that I am enrolled in requires a computer, but due to ongoing problems with my computer I have not been able to use it as needed.
I bought a Alienware x51 desktop last year (around march of 2012). The desktop has been crashing around feb of 2013, the warranty was about to expire and i extended the warranty by one year to be on the safer side. In the past week the computer has been crashing daily and is currently unusable.
My sons R3 Aurora's multiplier continues to drop to 8 rather than 32. As a result he's getting very slow speeds and performance. He is running A06 Bios. We have tried various bios settings, however we can't get it to work correctly. Any thoughts?
I have an Inspiron 7520 and uninstalled and reinstalled the new version of Dell Backup and Recovery Manager -- upgraded to premium to make sure that I would have full ability to use the program. Note: the old version didn't work at all -- hung up on backup, etc. I have rebooted.
AlienFX launches fine and I can see the green icon in the notification area, but trying a quick change for the led panels or going trough the Command Center has no effect. After a while a balloon pops up from the notification area saying that AlienFX could not communicate with the hardware.
I want to add an extra drive to my 760 which only has two sata ports. I am using these for main hard drive and DVD rewriter. I need to add an extra peripheral card to drive the new hard drive. I have tried a couple of pci cards with no success.
I have a Dell v515w that was working fine with my windows 7 computer. Unfortunately, that computer is not with me anymore. My new laptop is Windows 8 and I cannot get the printer to work with it. I've read all of the other posts and tried everything without luck.
All had been working and my wife with her Mac has no probelm. I have tried deleting the printer and reinstalling. A ballon on the bottom bar: Your device is ready to use. and in another baloon in the middle of the screen: the printer installation failed. Word etc sees no printer.
Also sometimes if I press the F2 key (turns wifi on or off) when the system boots back up it has turned the WIFI off as if the keys are working in the back ground but Windows has froze and you the keys don't do anything to windows and the mouse cursor has gone).
