If you are thinking of buying or currently own a Dell XPS 17 (L702x) good luck. I purchased my laptop in march 2012 and I personalized the purchase for high end performance. I have had nothing but trouble, pain and suffering, from this unit.
"Error 219 - The operation cannot complete because the virtual disk has a persistent reservation placed on it. Please release the reservation at the host and then retry the operation" Is there a way to release this thru the GUI ?

When I’ve been running my XPS L501X on battery alone (disconnected from the AC adapter) for a half hour or so and then reconnect to the AC adapter, I get a message saying that the AC adapter type cannot be determined. I’m using the Dell AC adapter that came with the computer (from Dell).
I can connect to my wirless and any that is Verizon. I cannot connect to a wirless that is not secured. I put in the information requested form the wirleless device but still cannot connect. Other laptops connect to these with out needing owner device password (group of numers)
After doing a fresh xp clean install (no problems just wanted a fresh system) and downloading all the drivers (except ethernet controller) My Laptop cannot find our own wifi connection, Its finds everyone elses wifi but ours.
I never downloaded this program (to my knowledge at least) however, the laptop recognized it as legitimate and a virus scan picked up nothing. Does anyone has any idea where this program came from?
AlienFX launches fine and I can see the green icon in the notification area, but trying a quick change for the led panels or going trough the Command Center has no effect. After a while a balloon pops up from the notification area saying that AlienFX could not communicate with the hardware.
First off, the lucky XPS 10 owners that downloaded the new updates that systems work the same, well I wish I were you guys. I however didn't get out so lucky. Here is my story. I got a replacement XPS 10 Tablet in the mail today that seemed to work fine.
Oddly enough it seems that the track pad/mouse pointer stops working when the screen is black. e.g. during the time the screen is black the pointer on the screen doesn't move. I thought it might be related to the back light on the keyboard or the touch buttons.
You can open Battery Meter from Control Panel or from the battery icon on taskbar (bottom right corner). The Battery Meter can be used to check the Status, Life and Health of the Battery. Check what it says there about the battery health.
I am installing a 32gb ssd cache in my inspiron 13z. I have submitted a question here about how to do this to which you posted a paper explaining the process. However, my bios only has options for AHCI mode and ATA Mode. The intel site says that neither of these will work.
