My Dell Inspiron desktop is having a hard time booting up. I press the power button and the light flickers for literally half a second, but then nothing happens. If I hold down the power button, the light flickers repetetively as if it's being pressed multiple times.
Has anyone ever installed an SSD on this model? I have tried 3 different models of SSDs, but none of them will insert all the way, it gets stuck about half way. Regular HDDs insert just fine (I've tried several makes/models of HDDs and SSDs, and so far all of the HDDs fit, but none of the SSDs fit.

I have u2711 at work so i decided to buy 2713HM for home because it's newer and well advertised. Bought one in internet shop and i am terribly offended by its extremely poor quality. it's badly lit, it has tiny diagonal stripes on white and after a week of usage a bad pixel has appeared.
The hibernate command works fine, but in approximately 50% cases, the machine switches on immediately after switching off at the end of the hibernate process. It requires an immediate press of the power button to shutdown again.
So I dug my old Latitude D630 out from the attic, turned it on, and it still works, and it actually connected to my router! However, only the wireless connects, not the wired connection. When I plug an ethernet cable in, the computer does not recognize the cable, and tells me a cable is unplugged...
But the factory pre-installed software exposed another problem - I cannot uninstall McAfee security. I have spent approx. 40 hours on this problem following the guidelines. The intro will expire in 2 weeks and I will be without protection. A call to McAfee had them blaming me...

A few months ago, I had a problem with my computer not starting up. The fans were just twitching and then not moving. After removing the battery and a few more failed attempts, the computer started up fine! I then left the computer switched on.
I have a Dell INSPIRON N4050 less than a yr old. It heats up and remains heated even though its on a cool pad. It gets uncomfortable to use as even the top near the touch pad gets heated.
