i have had my dell xps 1645 for around a year now i bought it off a website second hand last night it just shut down now when i turn it on all i get is a flashing mute light and the volume up and down are solid lights.

I have a Dell Inspiron and have had it for a year. Over the past week, when I have been using the computer it stops responding and I am unable to do Ctrl Alt Del or do anything except a hard shut down. This has been happening at least 5 times a day. It is also not shutting down now.

Have you noticed any signs of overheating in the machine? When automatically the computer shuts down, does the Windows Logging Off message comes or it becomes non-functional suddenly?
