It appears the CD/DVD burning software is unable to determine the Optimum Power Calibration rate (a small pre-burn test to determine optimal laser power for writing), resulting a disk burn failure.

I managed to finally find some time to upgrade my trusty (but loud) XPS Gen 5 to Windows 7. The major components changed were RAM (6GB total=2x2GB+2x1GB), a new SSD (Seagate 256GB SDSSDHP-256G-G25), and newly purchased Dell 21.5" Ultrasharp U2212HM monitor.

My wifi signal got red x on it... I cannot connect to the internet from home. At home if i want to use internet, i must use cable to enable access the internet. However at office i still can access the internet even though red x still on the wifi signal. (no need cable)

I have the most basic version of dell xps 14z and another monitor which has a VGA and DVI port , currently I have connected the HDMI port of the laptop to a HDMI cable that plugs into a HDMI to DVI adapter that goes into the monitor .

Because we can't remember our Wireless Router Password, I pushed the reset button on the router and lost my Internet connection. Have a Dell Inspiron 7010, and in trying to reinstall the router with CD, can't find the wireless switch on my computer.

You can open Battery Meter from Control Panel or from the battery icon on taskbar (bottom right corner). The Battery Meter can be used to check the Status, Life and Health of the Battery. Check what it says there about the battery health.

The case is that I configured around 10 units of Optiplex GX620 the SFF a couple of years ago and they worked fine for one year but recently I have discovered that 3 of them have a very strange behavior when powering on.

Anyone else with an XPS One 2710 experiencing random beeps? Mine is doing this every day - maybe 15 minutes after boot up and then at other random times. Lots of single beeps - no rhyme or reason. Nothing showing as an issue in the event viewer under physical.

Usually, laptops do not have the capability to upgrade the graphics card. The graphics card is embedded on the motherboard. Dell only ships Intel® HD onboard graphics card with this system model. If you are looking to upgrade the graphics card, then the entire motherboard may have to be replaced.

Im using an m14x laptop and in the last week or so when ever i plug in my charger it does not charge the battery and so to use my computer it must be plugged in at all times.

I currently put my motherboard into a new computer case and in doing so I need to put the power switch and reset switch back in the right pin locations. However I no longer have the manual and I was wondering if someone could help me figure out which pins the power and reset switch go into.
